A friend saw a selfie I'd taken the other day and said "that sums up why people like having you as their photographer". Aparrently he didn't mean my beard.
His point is that I am great at making people feel comfortable with me as a photographer, to the point that they end up having a laugh with me. A lot of photographers, he said, make people feel uncomfortable - they're often not a people person!
In fairness to him, I do pride myself on making people feel comfortable in front of the camera - most people don't like having their photo taken, and it's my job to help them relax and get some great shots. Not every wedding ends up with selfies - every wedding is different. But most of the people in these photos do hate having their photos taken, and I'm proud of these moments.
Your ability to make people feel comfortable and capture genuine moments is truly commendable. For photographers focusing on perfecting those candid shots, a black screen can be an invaluable tool during the editing process. It offers a distraction-free, neutral background to ensure every smile and relaxed moment stands out with clarity and precision.
